Configuring the Azure VM size collector
In order to dynamically collect Azure VM size data, PowerShell remoting needs to be enabled on the monitored VM.
In SQL Governor Proxy installation folder, edit the file called SQLGovernorServiceHost.exe.config. Find the following line, and change the value to True:
<add key="DBPro.Governor.Spoke.FeatureFlags.VmSizeCollection" value="True"/>
Viewing the metadata
After the collector has been configured, it will automatically start updating the server setup metadata in Settings > Metadata > Servers.
The collector will automatically keep track of any changes to the size of the Azure VM.
You can also change these values manually. If you don't want the collector to automatically update the values anymore, you can check the Lock checkbox. This will prevent overwriting the current values.
To overwrite the entire history for a single server, check the Overwrite setup history checkbox, select the correct server and CPU model for the server and save the changes.
To overwrite the entire history for all servers, click on the Reset history button. Note that this may take a long time.
Overwriting history is useful when you know that incorrect values have been previously recorded and you plan to use capacity planning.
