Configuring the VMware vCenter collector
Ensure that your environment meets the prerequisites for VMWare vCenter collection.
Launch Proxy Configurator application from the Proxy installation folder. Navigate to the Configuration tab. Set the vCenter endpoint address and the user credentials and click the Set button. It is recommended that you restart the SQL Governor Proxy service after having changed this configuration.
If you at any point wish to disable the vCenter collection, remove all data from the endpoint address textbox and click Set. Restart the Proxy service.
Viewing the metadata
After the collector has been configured, it will automatically start updating the server setup metadata in Settings > Metadata > Servers.
As long as the server and CPU model are properly recognized by the collector, it will keep the following metadata fields up to date:
- Server brand
- Server series
- Server line
- Server model
- CPU model
- Hyperthreading (HT)
- VM cores
- Host cores
You can also change these values manually. If you don't want the collector to automatically update the values anymore, you can check the Lock checkbox. This will prevent overwriting the current values.
