Use manual trend growth rates when you have data from only from a short period of time (less than 3 months) and/or the workloads are growing at a rate that is not representative of the true growth rate. For example, if you have only two weeks worth of data with the second week showing higher workloads than the first, but you don't expect the workloads to grow every week, use a manual setting.
