When you click on a report and nothing happens or you get an error message, several causes are possible.
Problem: The error message says "The remote name could not be resolved"
This means the report server name of the report server URL is wrong. To fix it, do the following steps:
- Go to Settings > General.
- Double-click on the Report server URL.
- Enter the correct URL (make sure the server name is correct).
- Click Save changes.
Problem: The error message says "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not found."
This means the reporting service of the report server URL is wrong. To fix it, do the following steps:
- Go to Settings > General.
- Double-click on the Report server URL.
- Enter the correct URL (make sure the service name is correct).
- Click Save changes.
Problem: The error message says "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized"
This means the credentials of the Reporting Services user are wrong To fix it, do the following steps:
- Go to Settings > General.
- Double-click on the Report server user.
- Enter the username of the user that has permissions to Reporting Services.
- Double-click on the Report server password.
- Enter the password of the same user.
- Click Save changes.
